There Are A Few Open Houses Left Don’t Miss Them! City of Boise Zoning Code Rewrite

Dear East Enders,

For the last eighteen months the City has been working on updating their Zoning Codes.  This process has been broken down into three different modules and they have released the third module this week.  They will be holding Open Houses to discuss the third module across Boise.  This is your opportunity to learn how these changes may effect your neighborhood and the area around you.  We encourage you to try and attend one of the Open Houses listed below.

ZONING CODE REWRITE | Through the Zoning Code Rewrite process, the City of Boise is actively working to ensure that future development in our city creates pedestrian friendly dynamic spaces that enhance the character of our neighborhoods and help meet our long-term goals. The rewrite process is reaching the final phase, and the city is seeking community feedback.

On Tuesday, October 11 at 9:00 a.m. the city will release the latest draft of the zoning code on the City of Boise Zoning Code Rewrite webpage which includes the third and final section of the zoning code. Module 3 will govern the processes and procedures that development must go through for approval. These processes guide when a neighborhood meeting must happen, when to engage partner agencies, and which projects require presentations before any of our hearing bodies, including the Planning and Zoning Commission or, for larger projects, Boise City Council.

The city will host four in person community conversations and one virtual event. Each will begin with a short presentation followed by Q&A, and an opportunity to speak directly with planning staff on different aspects of the draft. Residents are encouraged to attend and can RSVP here.
