Pruning Prep work for ne seasons crack sealing + chip sealing + concrete/pavement repairs.
The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will be in your area over the ne few months pruning trees + shrubs to meet required roadway clearance requirements for upcoming maintenance activities.

PRUNING RESPONSIBILITIES

ACHD will complete the pruning between February 1, 2023 and June 30, 2023.
ACHD will only prune for roadway clearance, not aesthetics.
There is no cost to property owners.

PROPERTY OWNER PRUNING ACHD PRUNING
Must be complete by January 31, 2023

Starts February 1 ,2023 ACHD or the property owner may do the pruning.

Tree + Shrub

Property owners are encouraged to prune their trees and shrubs themselves or hire a professional.
Email us at TreePruning@achdidaho.org and let us know so we don’t duplicate efforts!
Work must be complete by January 31, 2023. A�er this date, ACHD will complete the pruning.
If you choose to prune trees in the public right-of-way, you may need to obtain a free permit from your
city parks department.

WHY PRUNE?
Properly maintained trees and shrubs not only allow safe travel for
those that drive, walk and bike, it also makes it possible for
maintenance trucks and equipment to work on your street. Pruning also
protects your trees and shrubs from damage from maintenance equipment.

CLEARANCE. 8 FEET 14 FEET EDGE OF PAVEMENT SIDEWALK

SHRUBS MUST BE PRUNED TO BEHIND THE SIDEWALK.

IF NO SIDEWALK, SHRUBS MUST BE PRUNED FAR ENOUGH FROM THE CURB OR EDGE OF STREET TO NOT IMPEDE TRAVELERS.
