Hello East End Residents,
In July, the ACHD Commission reviewed their entire 2023 capital budget and the Warm Springs Concept Study was a line item within that plan.
This study will be fully comprehensive and look at safe crossings, ADA improvements, intersection improvements/movements/rebuilds, traffic calming, curb extensions (“bulb outs”), bicycle facilities and more. The study will be conducted over the largest section of roadway ever done by ACHD and will extend two miles from the Broadway/Ave B intersection to the intersection at Windsong (new light east of the golf course)
There is an opportunity between now and the August 24th Budget Adoption Hearing to provide feedback on the draft budget (and Warm Springs Concept Study Proposal) via the projects@achdidaho.org address or through the ACHD “Tell us” platform http://www.achdidaho. org/AboutACHD/contactUs.aspx .
The complete budget open house can be found here as well: http://www.achdidaho. org/Departments/ChiefOstaff/ BudgetFY2023PubMeeting.aspx .
We would encourage you and other community stakeholders (among them, any other neighborhood residents) to take the opportunity to provide feedback. Please consider emphasizing safety as a priority for the Warm Springs corridor.
Following the budget approval, ACHD will begin negotiating all the fiscal year 2023 projects, with the goal of having them begin immediately on October 1st, when the new fiscal year commences.
Sincerely,
The EENA Transportation Committee
