SEASONAL DOG OFF-LEASH PROGRAM ENDING FEBRUARY 28 IN TWO CITY PARKS
Spring is near and the popular seasonal off-leash program for dogs in two Boise parks is coming to an end on Monday. Starting on Tuesday, March 1, dog owners are once again asked to leash their dogs at Ann Morrison Park (1000 S. Americana Boulevard) and Optimist Youth Sports Complex (9889 W. Hill Road Parkway). The seasonal off-leash program will begin again in November when sports leagues wrap up at both sites.
The seasonal off-leash program at Ann Morrison Park and Optimist Youth Sports Complex is intended to give dog owners another option for their pets to run and play during the winter months. The program also helps make geese uncomfortable at both sites. Please note, Together Treasure Valley Dog Island at Ann Morrison Park is a year-round dog off-leash destination. It is not affected by the end of the seasonal off-leash program.
During the busy spring and summer months, the city offers a variety of locations for dogs to play off-leash. To learn more about the many other dog-friendly parks and areas in Boise, visit our off-leash parks and areas web page. Please remember to always clean up after your pet when visiting a city park or off-leash area.
Spring is also a good time to obtain or renew an animal license for your pet. Both can be done by visiting the City of Boise’s animal licensing page.
