Archery Range and Dog Park Updates

Archery Range and Dog Park Updates

This is a project update on construction of the new archery range, bike park and dog park in Military Reserve:

Archery Range

Contractors are putting the finishing touches on the new archery range at the end of Mountain Cove Road. The new range will open to the public tomorrow (Wednesday, Aug. 28). Thank you for your patience as the new amenities were completed.

Bike Park

Construction of the Bike Park in Military Reserve continues to move along. The asphalt pump tracks have been placed and the concrete at the main entrance plaza is being poured. Final work on the irrigation system at the park is being completed as well. Areas to be landscaped will be amended and tilled in preparation for seeing in early September. Meanwhile, jump features, table tops, wall rides, whale tails and other amenities are being constructed at the site.

No opening date has been set, but the project will be completed sometime this fall. The Boise Parks and Recreation team will post updates and announce an opening date once it’s set.

Dog Park

The irrigation system for the new turf area in the basin is under construction. In addition, final grading work is being completed and an asphalt access ramp into the park has been placed. Shelters and benches at the new dog park are being installed and fencing installation is set to be completed by Boise Parks and Recreation crews in the coming weeks.

An opening date for the new and improved dog park has not been set. Fort Boise Park will remain a dog off-leash park until the new dog park is completed.

Again, thank you for your patience and please don’t hesitate to contact us at bpr@cityofboise.org if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Boise Parks and Recreation
