Important Planning and Zoning Hearing Monday October 1, 2018 at 6:00

It’s a big night for the East End at the Planning and Zoning Commission hearing Monday. For the first time in nearly 15 years, the consideration for a new historic district is being discussed to protect some of Boise’s most historic homes. Over 400 letters of support have been submitted to the city, including a letter of support from the East End Neighborhood Association. We encourage you to attend Monday and share your thoughts on these very special homes.

Also on the agenda is the redesign of Bannock St. The East End Neighborhood Association filed an appeal to the Design Review Commission in which we were successful. Bannock St. will be the East/West connection for the East End bike and pedestrian traffic as well as slow vehicular traffic once Jefferson is closed. We are working very hard to ensure that we don’t lose that connection to downtown. We met with St. Luke’s after the Design Review hearing, and feel that we are close to agreeing on a final design. We encourage you to attend Monday nights hearing and share your concerns about connectivity and safety for the East End.

Please come and share your thoughts with the Planning and Zoning Commission. The more people we have to fill the room, the better! At this time, the only way to have your voice heard is to be there in person as the deadline for emails and letters was last week.

Planning and Zoning Hearing 150 N Capitol Blvd 2nd Floor at 6:00pm.  If you plan to speak, please be there a few minutes early to sign up.
