23 May St Luke’s Construction Updates May 22nd – 24th
Night construction work near hospital entrance: May 22-24
Construction crews will work to put in a new storm drain pipe on the south side of Bannock Street from Ave. A to Ave. B. This work will be done between 6 p.m. and 5 a.m., May 22-24. The night work will allow crews to shorten the length of the project and minimize impact on traffic. Please note that there may be noise related to the construction work.
To park at the Boise hospital, patients and visitors should use Idaho Street for access. Emergency access is still available on Bannock Street via Avenue B.
Latest road improvement project update
Good news for drivers in the Fort Boise area. Road crews have made significant progress on asphalt paving and paint striping. As of Monday afternoon most major roads were fully open to traffic in both directions, including West Fort and West Jefferson Streets. Road improvements happening near St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center are wrapping up, and expected to be complete this summer, several months ahead of schedule.
The roads that remain impacted include:
- Closed: one half-block of 1st Street between State and Jefferson.
- Closed: two blocks of Avenue C between Jefferson and Bannock.
- Reduced to one westbound lane only: two blocks of State Street, between 1st and 2nd streets.
State Street will stay one lane in order for crews to construct a new concrete island. They hope to complete that work and have State flowing in both directions by the end of this week.
Rain over the weekend hindered some paint application on the new Reserve roundabout. On Monday, crews were able to reopen the road and work around traffic. Intermittent delays may continue today, as paint crews finish touch-ups. Avenue B and West Fort will remain open, but drivers could encounter flagging operations. Drivers may also continue to encounter flaggers on 2nd Street between Jefferson and Bannock.
