15 Jul What are your thoughts on Bannock Street, please provide feedback
Years ago, St Luke’s had acquired a section of Bannock Street, between Ave B and 1st, and last year it was voted that St Luke’s would acquire Jefferson St., between Ave B and 1st St. This decision was made with the understanding that St Luke’s would return the section of Bannock back to the public.
Here is a link to a letter sent to Mayor Bieter from EENA expressing our gratitude in his decision to stand by the reopening of the section of Bannock St. that was closed so long ago.
This past April St Luke’s hired planning firm, Toole Design Group (TDG), conducted listening sessions where they documented information, concerns, and suggestions from residents and stakeholders. After this information was collected, TDG conducted a charrette where this information was brought to residents and stakeholders who discussed potential designs for the section of Bannock St. that is to be relinquished. A copy of the final charrette report can be found by clicking on this link St Luke’s Bannock St Charrette.
It is important that if you would like to provide feedback on what you feel should happen to the section of Bannock St., between Ave B and 1st, that you contact the Mayor’s office by the first week of August 2017. It is our understanding that this project will be brought forth to the Mayor and City Council sometime in the near future and we want to make sure our residents have time to make comments.
